Building Strong Foundations in Faith, Learning and Character

An environment built on academic excellence, character development, and faith.
At the Australian Islamic College of Sydney (AICS), our Primary Education provides students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with a nurturing environment where academic excellence, character development, and faith formation grow together.

These early years are a vital stage in shaping a child’s identity, curiosity, and confidence. At AICS, we guide students through a holistic learning journey that develops both the mind and the heart, helping them grow into young individuals who seek excellence in both Dunya (this life) and Akhirah (the hereafter).

Our approach to primary education is built upon strong academic foundations aligned with the NSW curriculum, while remaining firmly grounded in Islamic values and character education.

Academic Learning

Students in Primary School engage in an interactive and engaging curriculum.
Students in Primary Education engage in an interactive and engaging curriculum designed to build core skills, inspire curiosity, and develop a lifelong love of learning. These key learning areas include:
English
Mathematics
Science and Technology
Human Society and its Environment
Creative Arts
Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
Religious education, Arabic, Islamic Studies and Quran

Through collaborative learning, inquiry-based activities, and supportive teaching, students develop critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for the transition into Secondary School.

Beyond the classroom, students participate in a variety of activities and school events that support the development of social confidence, teamwork, creativity, and resilience.
A foundation in faith
Faith is a central part of everyday life in the AICS Primary School. Spiritual development is intentionally woven into the learning experience, helping students understand their identity as young Muslims living in a diverse Australian society.

Students participate in daily prayers, du’as, and Quran recitation, building habits of reflection, discipline, and gratitude from an early age. Islamic values inspired by the Prophetic model (Akhlaq) guide behaviour and relationships, encouraging qualities such as kindness, honesty, humility, and respect.

Alongside their academic studies, students engage in an integrated Islamic curriculum that includes Islamic Studies, Qur’an, and Arabic, supporting their understanding of faith and helping them apply Islamic principles in their daily lives.

Special events such as Ramadan activities, Eid celebrations, and Quran competitions create memorable experiences that strengthen students’ connection to their faith and community.

Nurturing the whole child

From the early years of Primary School through to the academic and personal development of Secondary School, each campus provides a supportive environment where students grow in knowledge, character, and faith.

Guided by Islamic values and academic excellence, AICS creates learning environments where students are encouraged to discover their potential, build confidence, and prepare for meaningful futures.
