Digital E-Reading Platform
An innovative and leading digital e-reading platform made available for AICS students.

AICS is excited to remind the school community about Sora – an innovative digital e-reading platform available free of charge for AICS students. Reading is a key element of literacy, and constant engagement with literature through a strong and sustained reading experience elevates student educational outcomes. AICS aims to support the literacy of our students by deliberately and concertedly putting books back into their hands.

This platform has over 1000 books currently available for our students, with this number constantly increasing. The Sora app and website allow for students to access these e-books anytime and anywhere or any device. Picture books, novels, audiobooks, Islamic books and much more are available for continuous and uninterrupted use. Students can thus use the platform for the Premier’s Reading Challenge as well as the Ramadan Readathon.

Students will be receiving training at school on how to access and use the Sora platform, and they are also able to directly request books of their preference through the app and through the AICS library.

A further advantage of accessing the Sora platform is that it can be linked to a local Blacktown Library account and card (which can be attained for free online and through the library itself). Doing so grants students access to the entire digital library of Blacktown Library, which dramatically increases the amount and variety of books available to our students.
Please see the following instructions for how to access the Sora platform through an internet browser:
Step 1 - Go to www.soraapp.com through any browser.
Step 2 - Click on “Find your school”.
Step 3 - Enter your AICS Student ID Number. Please DO NOT include the “S” at the beginning of the student number, e.g. S200345 should be entered just as “200345” without the “S”.
Step 4 - To use the Sora app on various devices, simply install the app (click on the relevant icon below) and follow the instructions to set up the account or log in with student credentials.
We look forward to having students access the Sora app so they may further their reading journeys and ultimately improve their overall literacy.
