NAPLAN 2024

NAPLAN exams were held at the AICS Hall in mid May 2024. Alhamdo lillah, the results were excellent.

The NAPLAN results highlight outstanding achievements across all year levels, with a significant number of students performing at strong or exceeding levels. The proportion of students sitting at a level that is strong or exceeding expectations in Reading was 79% (Year 3), 81% (Year 5), 86% (Year 7) and 85% (Year 9). As a corollary, the proportion of students requiring support and intervention for Reading was remarkably low, coming in at 7% (Year 3), 4% (Year 5), 0% (Year 7) and 2% (Year 9). The results for Grammar were even more impressive.

Students exceeding expectations in Reading demonstrates advanced textual analysis and critical literacy skills, enabling them to navigate and interpret complex, non-linear texts with ease. Student performance in Numeracy was equally compelling with 84% of Year 7 students achieving ‘strong’ or ‘exceeding’ and only 1% requiring support (which corresponds to 1 student out of about 100 Year 7 students). 73% of our students exceeding expectations in Year 5 numeracy signifies a mastery of advanced mathematical reasoning and problem-solving, where students confidently engage with multi-step operations, extending this knowledge to real world applications.

Thanks are due to the parents and teachers for their various contributions and dedication to the students. Also to the the ICT staff for the preparations and the students who helped out ICT.
