AICS at Global Table Summit

Masha Allah, nine students from Australian Islamic College of Sydney were amongst the 35 students selected across Australia who participated as Teenovators in the Global Table summit.

The Global Table was a multi-faceted summit held in Melbourne, Australia, that focused on solving the food challenges that the world is facing and creating tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The main aim of the summit was to revise the 17 goals of UN Sustainable Developmental agenda and discuss different ways to achieve the goals, particularly focusing on Food Security.

The program brought together 200+ businesses and startups from all over the world, as well as 100+ export-ready Australian food producers. It hosted around 2000 people over the 3 days of the summit held in Melbourne. More than 60 conference sessions were held. Some of the key speakers include Dr. Howard from Mars Inc. and former US Secretary of State Mr. John Kerry.

Teenovators were a key participant group of the program. They opened every conference session with their ideas, inspiring current and future generation of leaders. Teenovators are students between the age of 13-19 who are passionate about climate change, biodiversity loss or any other issue connected to our food systems.
