AICS 20th Anniversary Celebrations
Alhamdo lillah, the 20th Anniversary of Australian Islamic College of Sydney was held at Mount Druitt campus Hall on Friday 17th of November, 2017. About 350 teachers, parents, staff, ex-staff, students and ex-students & families, members of the AICS Board, community leaders and dignitaries attended and graced the occasion.
Mr. Mohammed Nasib, Director of the Board, was the master of ceremonies. Mr. Abbas Chelat, Vice Chairman, recounted the history of the college. Dr. Imam Ali, the Principal spoke about the status of the college, its achievements and its future vision. Honourable guests Federal MP Ed Husic, NSW MP (Lakemba) Mr. Jihad Dib, NSW MP (Mt. Druitt) Mr. Edmond Atalla, Counsel General of Pakistan Mr. Abdul Majid Yousufani, Representative of Counsel General of Malaysia Mr. & Mrs. Muzafar Ikmal Saaid, Mayor of Blacktown Mr. Stephen Bali graced the occasion with their presence, appreciated the contributions of AICS to the community, spoke about the importance of education and parted valuable advice to AICS and its students in their future plans.
Students from the early years of AICS and their families were also remembered and honoured. They also spoke to the audiences as a group and shared their sweet memories and experinces.
All the members of the community and all people who have contributed to make AICS dream come true were remembered and thanked. Many of whom has since left us and May Allah bless their souls and grant them a place in Jannah.
May Allah bless all people and teachers who have contributed in many ways to the college during the years and well may they continue their support and affection for this noble institute of teaching and learning for years to come.
Dr. Tariq, Head of Islamic Studies Department, closed the ceremonies with duaas and dinner was served.
