11 November 2015 marked the 97th anniversary of the armistice that ended the First World War. Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11:00am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all warms and armed conflicts. This was observed in the College on the day as well. With the combined efforts of the teachers and the SRC, a ceremony was held at the College to commemorate the significance of the event. Prefects from Years 6-10 and Year 12 were given the opportunity to take part in the ceremony led by our Principal and Assistant Principals. With the help of all teachers and departments, students around the College also took part in various related activities to enhance their understanding of the event and its significance in our history. I would like to thank our music, D&T, ICT, and HSIE departments for carrying out these activities; Ms Abir Moukahal, and Ms Sabina Keith for assisting with the preparations of the ceremony and Mr Omar Etri and the members of our ICT department for capturing the ceremony on camera.
