Graduation ceremony for the year 2017 was held at AICS Hall on Friday 23rd September. Alhamdo lillah (thanks to Allah) 50 students graduated and passed an important milestone of their lives.
The ceremony was graced by Honourable Ed Husic, Federal MP for Chifle, Dr. Jan Ali, Sociologist of Religion, UWS, Mr. Vino Haran, Royal Australian Navy, Mr. Yousfani, Consul General of Pakistan in Sydney amongst other dignitaries and members of the community. Students’ respected parents, families and esteemed teachers were also present to honour the graduates.
The ceremonies commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran. It proceeds with words of wisdom imparted by the Principal Dr. Imam Ali and dignitaries for students to remember and benefit from throughout their lives. Awards were given to the outstanding students in recognition of their hard work and perseverance. Teachers and dignitaries were also honoured with gifts and words of appreciation and thanks.
The school choir led by Ms. Danya Cheng entertained the attendees by rendering the spiritual song ” Allahi Allah” in Urdu and English. The ceremony was a joyous and emotional filled moment for all who attended: happy to see our student’s efforts coming to a fruition but sad to see them go. It was a long time coming for some of the students who started their education life at AICS.
The ceremonies were concluded by a du’aa (supplication) made by Dr. Tariq Syed, Head of the Islamic studies department.
